What Makes a Great Mission Statement

Great mission statements are one way that innovative companies can build a brand and reputation.  A great mission statement helps companies attract 1) top talent, 2) outside capital, and 3) market leadership. It seeks to inspire employees, investors, and customers. It offers a larger purpose beyond the company’s financial goals.  It focuses on the impact the company hopes to make on the world and the deeper motivation the management team has for fulfilling its aspirations.

In this article, we will focus on some of the best mission statements from the technology sector. We focused on companies from fast-growing segments like SaaS, cloud, fintech, AI, marketplace, robotics, space tech, and electric vehicles.

Below are fifty of the most highly inspiring mission statements. They are listed in alphabetical order.

2U

2U is an online education platform and marketplace that offers courses from hundreds of universities and corporations.  2U’s mission statement is to eliminate the back row in education.
